Last month Microsoft Downloads announced the availability of the tool “Network Diagnostics for Windows XP”. I recently downloaded and installed the utility. It make three netowrk connectivity tests.
- HTTP connectivity to Microsoft.com
- HTTPS connectivity to Microsoft.com.
- FTP connectivity to Microsoft.com
There is also an xml log generated which is viewable via a link in the tool.
Over all I’m not that impressed, except that the tool has a very nice interface.
Before download a “Genuine Micorosft” test of your Operating system will be done.
Requirements for the tool are Windows XP Service Pack 2.
